It is most commonly used for evaluating several symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract, such as changes in the habits of the bowel, intestinal bleeding, rectal bleeding, etc. During the procedure, if your doctor identifies that seems to be abnormal like polyps or any abnormal growths, he might remove some small amounts of tissues for the analysis.
